Yes, there is no constant of proportionality.
No, the constant of proportionality is 0.3.
No, there is no constant of proportionality.

Answers

Answer 1

Yes, the given relation is proportional and has a constant of proportionality = 0.3 or ratio of proportionality 3/10, thus option (A) is correct.

What are the ratio and proportion?

The ratio is the division of the two numbers.

For example, a/b, where a will be the numerator and b will be the denominator.

Proportion is the relation of a variable with another. It could be direct or inverse.

As  given,

A 12-ounce cup costs $3.60.

The ratio of cost to ounce = 3.60/12 = 0.3

A 16-ounce cup costs $4.80.

The ratio of cost to ounce = 4.80/16 = 0.3

So constant of proportionality is 3/10.

Hence "Yes, the given relation is proportional with a constant of proportionality is 0.3".

The variables X and y vary inversely. Write an equation relating X and y.
An equation relating X and y is ___

Answers

X and Y have inversely varying values. Construct an equation to connect X and y. A formula connecting X and y is -10.

What is meant by inversely varying values?The link between two variables known as "inverse variation" occurs when one variable's value increases while the other variable's value declines. Inverse variation, as opposed to direct variation, depicts a relationship that is not linear between two variables. As one number rises, the other falls for two quantities with inverse variation.K is positive, therefore as x rises, y rises as well. As a result, y increases by 1.5 as x increases by 1. Y drops as x grows because k is positive, which causes inverse variation.

y = k/x

5 = k/2

k=10

y = 10/x

So when x=-1, y = 10/-1 = -10

what we can say about the four sides of the rectangle? why?

Answers

In a rectangle, all four sides have different lengths and all four angles are right angles (90 degrees). This is because a rectangle is a type of geometric shape that is defined by having four straight sides, with opposite sides being parallel and equal in length, and four right angles.

What is the rectangle?

A rectangle is a four-sided shape with opposite sides that are equal in length and opposite angles that are equal in measure. It is a type of polygon and is one of the most basic shapes in geometry. It is also a parallelogram with all its angles are right angles.

In a rectangle, all four sides have the following properties:

They are all straight lines.They are all equal in length.The opposite sides are parallel to each other.The opposite sides are also congruent to each other, meaning they have the same length.

These properties are true because a rectangle is a geometric shape that is defined by having four right angles, and four straight lines as sides. This makes all four sides straight and parallel to each other, and the opposite sides congruent and equal in length.

Additionally, the rectangle is a special case of a parallelogram, which is a shape that has two pairs of parallel sides, and since opposite sides of a rectangle are parallel to each other, it's also a parallelogram.

A contractor is installing a semicircular window with a radius of 3.5 feet.

A semi circle has a diameter connecting its endpoints. The radius is labeled three and five tenths feet.

Find the distance around the window. Use 227 for π. Explain your answer.

Enter the correct answers in the boxes.

Distance:
ft; Find the circumference of the complete circle, C=2πr.

C≈ $$
≈ _/_x_x_ft. The circumference of half the circle is about ___ft. The distance around the window also includes the straight base, so it is about ___ft.

Answers

Answer: Distance: 22.7x3.5=79.95 ft;

To find the distance around the window, we need to find the circumference of the complete circle, which is given by the formula C = 2πr.

In this case, the radius is 3.5 ft and π is approximately equal to 227.

So we can substitute these values in the formula: C = 2πr = 2(227)(3.5) = 79.95 ft.

Since the window is a semicircle, we only need half of the complete circumference to find the distance around it, so the distance around the window is about 39.975 ft.

However, the distance around the window also includes the straight base, so it is about 40 ft.

If lines AB and A'B' were fully drawn, they would not share any points in common because they are parallel lines that can never meet.

What is scale factor?

In Geometry, the scale factor of a geometric figure can be calculated by dividing the dimension of the image (new figure) by the dimension of the pre-image (original figure):

Scale factor = Dimension of image (new figure)/Dimension of pre-image(original figure)

Next, we would determine the length of line segment AB and line segment A'B' as follows;

Note: Each interval on this graph represents 1 unit.

|AB| = √(10² + 8²)

|AB| = √(100 + 64)

|AB| = √164

|A'B'| = √(15² + 12²)

|A'B'| = √(225 + 144)

|A'B'| = √369

Therefore, the scale factor is given by:

Scale factor = √369/√164

Scale factor = 1.5.

The parent function f(x) = √x is the square root function, which has a shape of a "V" upside down.

The first transformation is a vertical stretch by a factor of 5. To apply this transformation, we need to multiply the function by 5.

g(x) = 5√x

The second transformation is a translation 4 units right, which is the same as adding 4 to the x in the function.

g(x) = 5√x + 4

The final transformation is a translation 1 unit up, which is the same as adding 1 to the y in the function.

g(x) = 5√x + 4 + 1

So the final equation is g(x) = 5√x + 5

Be sure to include in your response:

Answers

Answer:

  $151.06

Step-by-step explanation:

You want to know the amount saved by buying a refurbished computer for $1095 with 5.75% tax instead of a $1360 computer at a 10% discount with 6.5% tax, when the difference in purchase price earns 3.75% simple interest for a year.

New computer

The 10% discount means the price is multiplied by (1 -10%) = 0.90. The 6.5% tax means the discounted price is multiplied by (1 +6.5%) = 1.065. The net result is that the purchase cost of the new computer is ...

  $1360 · 0.90 · 1.065 = $1303.56

Refurbished computer

Similarly, the tax multiplies the cost of the refurbished computer by 1.0575, so its cost is ...

  $1095 · 1.0575 ≈ $1157.96

Savings

The difference between the costs is put into a savings account, so that will earn interest of 3.75%, bringing the balance to 1.0375 times the original savings:

  ($1303.56 -1157.96) · 1.0375 = $151.06

You really saved $151.06 if the original savings is put into a savings account.

__

Additional comment

The balance on an account earning simple interest at rate r for t years is ...

  A = P(1 +rt)

Here, the amount put into the account is 145.60. At an interest rate of r=3.75%. In one year (t=1), this is multiplied by 1.0375 to obtain the "real savings."

The lowest common multiple of p, 63 and 81 is 1134. Find a possible value of p.

Answers

If the lowest common multiple of p, 63 and 81 is 1134. a possible value of p is 14

How to find the value of P

To find a possible value of p, we can use the property of the lowest common multiple (LCM) that the LCM of two numbers is equal to their product divided by their greatest common divisor (GCD). We can apply this property to the three numbers p, 63, and 81:

LCM(p, 63, 81) = (p * 63 * 81) / GCD(p, 63, 81) = 1134

We can find the GCD of p, 63, and 81 using the Euclidean algorithm:

GCD(p, 63, 81) = GCD(p, GCD(63, 81)) = GCD(p, 9)

Since 9 is a divisor of 63 and 81, it is also a divisor of 1134. Hence, we can simplify the equation:

1134 = (p * 9 * 81) / 9 = p * 81

Dividing both sides of the equation by 81, we get:

p = 1134 / 81 = 14

So, one possible value of p is 14.

Andrew is creating a rectangular dog run in his back yard. The length of the dog run is 24 feet. The perimeter of the dog run must be at least 58 feet and no more than 96 feet. Use a compound inequality to find the range of values for the width of the dog run. Use
x when writing your inequality.

Answers

The perimeter of a rectangle is found by adding the length and width together twice, or 2l + 2w.

To find the range of values for the width of the dog run, we can set up a compound inequality using this formula:

2(24) + 2x ≥ 58 and 2(24) + 2x ≤ 96

Simplifying this, we get:

48 + 2x ≥ 58 and 48 + 2x ≤ 96

Subtracting 48 from each side:

2x ≥ 10 and 2x ≤ 48

Finally, dividing each side by 2:

x ≥ 5 and x ≤ 24

So the range of values for the width of the dog run is x ≥ 5 and x ≤ 24.

Ernest Heminway is famously known as an American novelist. Although Heminway was also a short-story writer and journalist, his novels gained popularity through his concise style of writing. This heavily influenced writers for generations to come. Even though his writing was straightforward, many included underlying meanings and allegories. One of his most well known novels, The Old Man and the Sea, contains several topics that can be interpreted as moral lessons. The Old Man and the Sea is a novel of a man named Santiago who has accomplished inner peace while living in a world full of misfortune. Santiago spent the majority of a young boy, Manolin's, life teaching him to fish and watching him grow up. Their bond grew stronger as the boy did but due to Santiago's reputation of bad luck Manolin's parents forced him to fish on a different boat, hoping he would do better without the old man. Santiago was not discouraged by Manolin's parents' lack of faith and still wished the boy the best. Although Manolin offered to go with the man anyway, Santiago told him to stay with the lucky boat. He was not bitter or spiteful because the boy he taught to fish was now doing better without him but was proud and even though Manolin's parents forced him away because they thought poorly of Santiago his contentment did not waver. Santiago was not only criticized by Manolin's parents who considered him 'Salao', the worst form of unlucky, but by most other fishermen as well. In the novel, Heminway describes a time when the old man and the boy sat together on a terrace. The other fisherman began to make fun of him and those who didn't simply turned a blind eye. When Santiago had gone eighty-four days without catching a fish people were sure he was an unsuccessful fisherman. Although everyone around him either laughed at or pitied him he was always composed. The boy he practically raised and taught to fish was forced to leave him because people believed Santiago was unfit to fish with the boy. Everyone looked down on him and he was still optimistic and strived to do better, not because his community disregarded him but for himself. The constant talk of his misfortunes did not matter to Santiago and he paid no mind to them. Everything Santiago did was to achieve his own goals not to change anyone's opinion of him because he knew who he was and that was all that mattered. Santiago suffered judgment from many and was still never disheartened. His spirit never faltered from the disapproval of others but it also did not waver while he endured extreme physical stress. After eight-four days gone without catching a fish Santiago decided to go farther out into the sea. He caught onto one of the biggest fishes he had ever seen. After dealing with such adversity, he decided that he would not go home without that fish. The fish dragged him farther out to see, causing the tension in the line so slowly and continuously dig into his skin. He went two days and two nights stuck in the beating sun and cold night while trying to capture the fish. Once he eventually caught the fish his travel back to land was far worse. The bloody fish attracted sharks that were just as persistent as Santiago. They began to bite chunks out of Santiago's great catch, drawing in more sharks. By the end of his journey the sharks had eaten the entire fish, broke a number of his equipment, and physically and emotionally drained him. Even though Santiago had success within reach and got it ripped away from him he was not resentful. When he got back he focused on the positive side of things and the fact that he missed not being alone instead of his failure. He did not feel the need to explain himself to everyone or to boast about the great fish he lost. He accepted what happened and moved on without complaint. Throughout the period Heminway described in his book, Santiago's life was full of bad luck and disapproval but he somehow managed to come out emotionally unscathed after every misfortunate event. In Heminway's book he details many tragic events that took place in Santiago's life but portrays his resilience to such things and ability to come back from anything. Ernest Heminway can be known for including hidden meanings and allegories in his writing. In the Old Man and the Sea, Heminway indirectly conveys the meaning of a man living a life of adversity and finding peace within himself. Does Rameck regret missing his chance to be an actor?
