Who was Anne Frank?

Jewish child Anne Frank, whose diary of her family's two years in hiding during the German occupation of the Netherlands became a classic of war literature, is actually named Annelies Marie Frank.

Otto Frank, a German businessman, moved his wife and two daughters to live in Amsterdam at the beginning of Adolf Hitler's Nazi government.

Anne was required to switch to a Jewish school in 1941 after German troops invaded the Netherlands. She was given a red-and-white plaid diary for her 13th birthday on June 12, 1942.

Throughout this time, Anne diligently recorded her experiences in her diary, including everything from little irritations to the worry of being discovered. She spoke about usual teen concerns as well as her aspirations for the future, which included becoming a writer or journalist.

Read the passage from Harriet Tubman: Conductor on the Underground Railroad by Ann Petry. When Harriet heard of the sale of her sisters, she knew that the time had finally come when she must leave the plantation. She was reluctant to attempt the long trip North alone, not because of John Tubman’s threat to betray her, but because she was afraid she might fall asleep somewhere along the way and so would be caught immediately. She persuaded all three of her brothers to go with her. Based on the details in this passage, which statement would Petry most likely agree with?

Answers

Answer:

Harriet Tubman was determined to leave no matter what.

Explanation:

She wasn't optimistic, anxious, or unconcerned at all in this paragraph. She was determined to leave because she was afraid she might fall asleep. She even persuaded her brothers to go with her. She was even threatned by her own husband. If that doesn't show determination, I don't know what does!

She persuaded all 3 of her brothers to go along with her.

I approached my best friend at her birthday party. She was in a hurry to open the gifts she had received. When she wasn’t looking, I tossed the stuffed bear I got for her onto the table full of presents. After examining the bear, she jumped in excitement and thanked me.
We arrived at my best friends house, the place bustling with noise. It seems the party had already started. People were jumping around, swaying to the music, and shouting. For such a small house, it seemed to be full of people. We walked slowly up the path to her house, passing many happy people. As we walked in, the noise became more prevalent. We spent the party dancing and singing to bad karaoke. We continued swaying to music, our steps very disorganized. The music was blaring and people were having loads of fun. As the night fell, we decided to have a slumber party. We all slept soundly, our energy drained from the party. My best friends birthday was pretty fun.

In page 43, while attempting to express to young people, Rameck mention that the little boys who cause constant disruptions in class will never grow up to be successful people.

A vivid summary of the book titled "We Beat The Street":

Three boys found the strength and determination to work through their difficulties in order to complete high school, college, and medical school together after making a pact to stick together through the tough times in their impoverished Newark neighborhood.

Sampson, George, and Rameck could have easily followed in the footsteps of their childhood friends into drug dealing, gangs, and prison. They recognized in each other the desire and ability to "beat the street" when they met in high school.

They made mistakes, faced disappointments, and nearly failed along the way, but they achieved their goals and more by working hard, finding positive role models, resisting negative influences, and supporting each other at every turn. They are now known as the Three Doctors and work in the same community.

2 "She was not only the largest ship afloat, but was also believed to be the safest."

3 "Slowly, the Titanic stopped."

4 "Her sister ship, the Olympic, had been in service for some months already."

Answers

Answer:

So this question was actually pretty confusing so in the end I got this answer:

'Down in the plain wooden cabins of the steerage class were 706 immigrants.' I thought that would fit well because 'person versus society' means it shows a struggle between a character and larger social forces, and the only option with a 'person' (in this case people) against a society which I would assume were the rich people and people who could afford to travel in the best conditions and were not struggling like the immigrants?

In the second option, there was no general 'conflict' nor 'people.' In the third option, I guess the 'conflict' could be that the titanic but in general, all the people in the ship were all the same endangered. In the fourth option, there were no people nor any conflict. (I mean unless it was talking about rivalry between the ships or something?)

I’d say number 1 as well since it seems to be the most realistic answer than the others. I hope this helps!
